The following courses are funded by the IBEW/NECA Joint Safety Training Fund

All employees working under a Collective Bargaining Agreement requiring contributions to the IBEW No. 2 - NECA Joint Safety Training Trust Fund who meet the pre-requisites are eligible for these courses:

Confined Space Safety Training:  At the end of this course, students will be able to display extensive knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146, demonstrate confined space testing procedures using manual and visual methods, identify the hazards associated with confined space entry, and understand and identify the different types of confined space protective systems. 

Excavation Safety for Competent Person Training:  At the end of this course, students will be able to display extensive knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926, Subpart P Excavations, demonstrate correct soil testing procedures using manual and visual methods, identify hazards associated with excavations, and understand and identify different types of protective systems. 

Confined Space Safety and Excavation Safety for Competent person 

    Fiber Optics (TBA - prerequisite: Journeyman Lineman classification)

    URD Splicing (prerequisite: Journeyman Lineman classification)

    Code of Excellence This program is designed to bring out the best in our construction members and demonstrate to our customers that IBEW members exercise safe and productive work practices, perform the highest quality and quantity of work and utilize their skills and abilities to the maximum.

    Rigger & Signal Certification Class - Contractors will require this certification for all employees in the near future.  More details about the curriculum coming soon. 


    Crane Institute of America Crane Certification course - This program will prepare you for testing on a telescoping boom truck - <21 ton & 21-75 ton.  The Safety Training Fund will pay for one set of tests at the end of your training week.  One week, no pay - Deposit required at time of registration.
