Approximately 80 percent of Missouri’s electricity is generated by aging, coal-fired power plants. As federal regulations on power plant emissions become stricter, many will need to be replaced. How will we support our state’s energy needs? If we plan well, we can keep all of our options open, including clean, efficient nuclear power.

Also known as the Missouri Energy Partnership Act, Senate Bill 50 ensures that we can secure the most reliable, lowest cost electricity for our state. Senate Bill 50 gives us the opportunity to plan ahead so that we can support economic growth, job creation and energy demand in the smartest way possible. And again, it will cost you less than $2 a year on your electric bill.
